Before my transition into physical therapy, I experienced an exciting career as a professional dancer. From childhood into my teenage years, I trained in the Cecchetti method at a ballet studio in Carmel Valley, where I learned the discipline and dedication required of a young dancer. After joining a pre-professional training company and having the opportunity to dance with BalletMet Columbus for a year, I went on to earn my BFA in contemporary dance performance from The Boston Conservatory at Berklee. My professional performance experience spans from a company member in Gregory Dawson's dawsondancesf contemporary ballet company in San Francisco, to freelance credits in New York City including Lin-Manuel Miranda's In the Heights motion picture.
In addition to performing on stage, I began curating a passion for fitness as a personal trainer for high profile clientele at Tracy Anderson Method in NYC.
Pivoting to physical therapy was a natural progression for me, shaped by years of navigating my own dance related injuries and a longstanding desire to help fellow dancers and colleagues manage theirs. Having pursued a professional dance career at a high level and performed in major cities across the country, I bring a firsthand understanding of the physical and mental demands placed on dancers across all ages and levels of experience.
As a DPT, my focus is on helping all types of patients move well and return to the activities they value most. To achieve these goals, I draw on my unique perspective from a dance background to inform how I evaluate and treat my patients' movement patterns. I find that a trained dancer's eye for movement is a valuable asset in finding the root cause of symptoms, as well as helping to find a fun, creative, and effective treatment plan for any diagnosis.
Outside the clinic, I can be found at the beach with friends, trying a new workout class, teaching ballet, or adventure hiking with my dog, Tutu.
